Okay, fellow foodies โ€” let me paint you a picture. โœจ Itโ€™s my brotherโ€™s birthday, weโ€™re dressed to the nines, and Iโ€™m about to dive into a vegan fine dining tasting menu that somehow manages to blow my already very high expectations out of the water.

Where? Roganic Hong Kong.
What? A plant-based culinary adventure that made me audibly gasp more than once.
Price tag? HKD 1280 + 10% service.
Worth it? 1000%. ๐Ÿ™Œ

๐ŸŒฑ Not Your Average Vegan Menu โ€” This Oneโ€™s a Work of Art

First things first: Roganic doesnโ€™t have a fixed vegan menu. But what they do have is something even cooler โ€” a vegan version of their regular tasting menu, made with the same care, creativity, and sophistication.

Spoiler alert: itโ€™s phenomenal. Hereโ€™s what went down, course by glorious course.


๐Ÿง‚ SNACKS โ€” The Grand Vegan Welcome

  • Salted Baked Boltardy Beetroot with persimmon, hawthorn, dill root cracker, and an herby emulsion. Fancy, fresh, and fab.
  • Maitake Mousse with braised shiitake, pickled shimeji & ramson oil โ€” a full-on umami bomb in the best way possible.
  • Pumpernickel Bread + Cultured Vegan Butter โ€” YES, they made a vegan version of their famous butter and YES, I could eat it by the spoonful.

๐Ÿ… FIRST โ€” Tomato, But Make It Art

  • Farmhouse Tomatoes in Perilla & Coal with fermented pistachio. Sounds wild? It is. Wildly refreshing and delicious. It’s definitely the perfect way to start our vegan gastronomic journey!

๐ŸŒฑ SECOND โ€” BBQ, But Make It Plant-Based

  • BBQ Celeriac + Mr. Linโ€™s Asparagus, nasturtium leaves, and smoked dashi. A smoky, savory delight that made me rethink all root vegetables forever.

๐Ÿฅ— THIRD โ€” A Salad That Changed My Life

Iโ€™m not exaggerating.

  • Grilled Salad Over Embers, with toasted seeds, elderflower, yeast, and summer truffle.
    This was, without a doubt, the best salad Iโ€™ve had in my entire life. And I donโ€™t say that lightly. I wanted to cry a little bit.

๐Ÿงƒ Non-Alcoholic Pairing? YES PLEASE!

Now, letโ€™s talk drinks.
We opted for the non-alcoholic pairing โ€” and Iโ€™m SO glad we did.

Roganic brews their own in-house kombucha, and itโ€™s not just fizzy tea โ€” itโ€™s flavour alchemy.

We picked:

  • Crystal Pear & Miso Kombucha โ€“ subtly sweet, beautifully balanced, and slightly savory in the most intriguing way.
  • Hojicha & Beetroot Kombucha โ€“ earthy, toasty, and surprisingly refreshing. Who knew roasted tea and beetroot could be such a power couple?

These pairings didnโ€™t just complement the food โ€” they elevated it. A perfect alternative for anyone skipping alcohol but still wanting a sophisticated, paired experience.


๐Ÿ‹ PRE-DESSERT โ€” A Fancy Palate Cleanser

  • Aerated Perfume โ€” lemon, lychee, and Douglas fir. Light, zesty, and kind of magical. Like a forest fairy made you a sorbet.

๐Ÿ“ DESSERT โ€” Strawberry Dreams Forever

  • Strawberry Tartlet with hibiscus and Earl Grey, topped with the most divine strawberry sorbet.
    Sweet, floral, refreshingโ€ฆ chefโ€™s kiss.

๐Ÿฐ SWEET TREATS โ€” The Grand Finale

  • Roganic Waffles + Blackcurrant Tea Cake โ€” a dainty, delicious bite to end a truly unforgettable meal.

๐Ÿ’ธ Letโ€™s Talk Value: Is It Worth the Price?

For HKD 1280 + 10% service, youโ€™re getting:

  • 7+ courses of fine-dining-level vegan food
